Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the biggest beneficiary. It was founded by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder and his wife Melinda. They focused on world health and education. Bill and Buffett have been friends since the early 1990s. The three Buffett children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (named after his wife) were among the foundations that were the recipients of donations. They were focused on women's reproductive rights, funded college scholarshipsand additional charities. In the year 2010 Buffett along with Gates Gateses created the Giving Pledge, an invitation to wealthy people to give the majority of their money to charities.
